Fine wrinkling almost never appears in Asian skin. However, the thinner skin characteristic of people with Anglo-Saxon origins tends to show signs of aging early. Loss of volume, on the other hand, is another story and no one is exempt. "A loss of volume caused by collagen degeneration and shifts in the underlying bony structures occur as we mature into our 40s, 50s and 60s," says Taylor. "This leads to a hollowness of the face and skin sagging, especially between the nose and the outer corner of the mouth [nasolabial fold] and in the neck and jawline."
