YOUR WELLNESS SPA TEA ROOM All is Calm Situated in the lush greenery of the Presidio district in San Francisco, SenSpa (senspa.com) is all about "the urban oasis", says its outreach manager, Terri Eaton. Indeed, the spa allots a good portion of its 13,000 square feet to spaces that encourage guests to cultivate inner peace. "All of our spaces are quiet and reflective," says Eaton, "but the Warming Room is the quintessential quiet space. Our Tea Garden is a bit more out in the open—it's a place to visit before you actually come in. And the Sanctuary is where some visitors actually choose to meditate." Clients are urged to arrive 30 minutes early to take advantage of the soothing atmosphere; posted signs gently remind them to "relax and refrain from conversing." In addition to its restful areas, the seven-year-old spa boasts 14 treatment rooms and a dedicated staff of 50. "This is one of the most vibrant, centered environments I've ever worked in," shares Eaton. "The people here love to talk about wellness and aid people in their wellness journeys. There's a common intention, a shared goal." —Linda Kossoff 48 DAYSPA | FEBRUARY 2014 WARMING ROOM SANCTUARY
