38 DAYSPA | APRIL 2014 SPOTLIGHT ON... emulsifi er, soothing agent and anti-infl ammatory. It also promotes relaxation and revitalization in both the body and face. Menotti: I prefer sea salt because it's purifying, buoyant and boasts highly developed leaching prop- erties. It helps keep skin soft, supple and clean. What type of client would benefi t from these marine-based treatments? Halsted: Anyone looking for a deep cleaning or detoxifi cation will benefi t. For someone with oily or acne-prone skin we offer an algae mask that helps by drawing out impurities and excess oil. We also retail marine-based products that revitalize the skin and boost hydration levels for those guests with drier complexions. Fox-Crismond: There's something for every client and skin type. Whether the guest is seeking to purify, rejuvenate, hydrate or relieve tension, we can recom- mend an ideal treatment. Menotti: Since we use a blend of both desert- and ocean-based ingredients in many of our services, clients with either dry or oily skin can benefi t from this dual usage. How do you market your sea-based services? Fox-Crismond: Our staff is well trained in the benefi ts of marine-based products, so they're our biggest advocates. Since we're located on the Atlantic coast, we are surrounded by Mother Nature and believe it's important to take advantage of these natural resources. Menotti: We make the most of our proximity to the desert and ocean by cultivating relationships with local producers to promote local ingredients. We also market the spa to our resort guests through our website, digital on-property signage, in-room collateral and concierge. Halsted: We market them through our brochure, website and the product line we carry in-spa. All of our estheticians and therapists are trained to answer questions, customize and develop the best treat- ments for our guests.
