Designed to represent the company's luxury products and heritage, the new includes extra features for customer convenience, as well as improved site maneuverability and new video content. "We are thrilled to unveil this fi rst phase of our new site, boasting more exciting features to engage and educate consumers," says chief marketing offi cer Lori Jacobus. Also prominent on the site is a callout to the brand's story, highlighting its origins and humanitarian eff orts—including "Eternally Pink" year-round support of breast cancer awareness, research and education. The company's eyelash conditioning formula was created by founder Michael Brinkenhoff , MD, as a solution to help make his wife feel beautiful during her own fi ght against breast cancer. A Revitalized RevitaLash in the news industry headlines HIGHER LEARNING Following a successful launch at America's Beauty Show in April, CIDESCO Skin Care and Body Therapy Certifi cates will now be off ered stateside at a number of cosmetology schools. Bellus Academy in San Diego is the fi rst school in the U.S. approved to integrate these programs into its aesthetics curriculum. The Skin Care Certifi cate includes training on facials and facial electrical treatments, plus full day, night and bridal makeup, with a minimum 730 hours recommended for completion. The Body Therapy Certifi cate protocol includes body analysis, pre-treatments, body electric treatments and full body massage, with 565 minimum hours recommended. "With these certifi cates, America's estheticians can achieve a higher level of learning, as well as become affi liated with a worldwide peer- accreditation society," says Paul Dykstra, CEO of CIDESCO U.S.A. BUSINESS IS BOOMING According to the latest annual fi ndings from the International SPA Association (ISPA), the industry is continuing to experience record fi nancial growth in fi ve key areas— overall revenue, number of visits, number of locations, revenue per visit and total number of U.S. employees. "This study celebrates eight consecutive years of growth with total revenue exceeding $17 billion in 2017," says ISPA president Lynne McNees. "The data continues to show a healthy and robust spa industry, resulting in a wealth of career opportunities." As in years past, the ISPA Foundation commissioned PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to conduct the study. "Most striking this year is that every one of the key metrics has reached all-time record levels, and that more than 500 new spas opened for business across the United States in 2017," says Colin McIlheney, PwC global research director. "This is rapid growth by any standard." The complete study was released at the 2018 ISPA Conference & Expo at the Phoenix Convention Center in Arizona, which took place this past September. The Beauty Marketplace (TBM), an e-commerce platform specializing in independent niche beauty brands, is seeking experienced and knowledgeable brand ambassadors and experts to join its community. TBM uses artifi cial intelligence to select brands and products that are most eff ective for a client's needs—but a human touch is present through beauty authorities and formulators who are available to answer consumer questions and ensure transparency.
