[ 8 ] • # dayspamagazine • november 2018 T E A M T R A V E L S from the editor by Laura Waldon H aving just attended both Face & Body in San Jose, California, and ISPA in Phoenix, I must admit that my mind is buzzing with all of the latest industry trends, thanks to inspiring keynote speeches as well as the plethora of popular products and protocols I witnessed on the exhibitor fl oors. These shows are such a huge source of inspiration when putting together our editorial coverage, since I get to see, feel and experience exactly what spas and their clients are currently seeking. This year, single- use gel and sheet masks (for pro services as well as home care) were huge, as were CBD infusions, botanical and natural ingredients, and skin and body devices of all kinds—some of which you'll fi nd in Must Have on page 20, Nature's Bounty on page 30, and Well Equipped on page 46. But as always, antiaging products and services continue to reign supreme. Although the term "antiaging" has fallen out of favor with some, the quest for smoother, healthier skin has not—and helping your guests achieve those goals, from fi ghting wrinkles to supporting the skin barrier, is critical to your success. That's why this issue is chock full of the services and ingredients that will ensure you're able to do just that: "Stop the Clock!" on page 34 showcases fi ve skin-smoothing facials, and our Spotlight column on page 16 reveals estheticians' top tips for treating the oft-neglected neck and décolleté areas. Then, for some ingredient deep-dives, "Retinol to the Rescue" on page 40 looks at the reasons vitamin A remains such an industry mainstay, and In Focus on page 10 addresses the many benefi ts of tea tree. On the whole, it's safe to say that clients will continue to seek your support when it comes to lifting, fi rming and clearing up their complexions—and we're here keep you tuned into the latest and greatest options available. I attended Face & Body San Jose and ISPA, where I got to see all the hottest trends in the spa industry. Jasmine celebrated the Lauren B Beauty and Shutters on the Beach collaboration in Santa Monica, CA. Gold Standards For more coverage of ISPA 2018, visit M O R E O N T H E W E B
