The award honors individuals who contribute to the overall well-being of others and encourage the renewal of mind, body and spirit. For more than 25 years, John has been an advocate for improving lives through socially conscious entrepreneurship. In 1992, he founded FUBU, an iconic fashion brand created to target African-American consumers ignored by traditional fashion brands. Additionally, as a member of the cast of ABC's "Shark Tank," John advises and invests in budding entrepreneurs. He also recently built a 17,000-square-foot creative incubator and workspace, Blueprint + co, to continue helping aspiring business leaders accomplish their dreams. "Through his business successes and philanthropic efforts, Daymond has positively changed countless lives," says ISPA president Lynne McNees. Everybody Loves Daymond PURE LUXURY Veteran beauty and spa industry professionals Laurie Nicoll (founder of Stemulation) and Julio Lamberty (founder of Innovative Cosmetics) have joined forces to form botanically based, clinical skincare company Luxury Wellness International (LWI). "Julio and I were inspired by the vision of the Global Wellness Institute's 'Beauty Meets Wellness' Initiative," says Nicoll. "The goal of the initiative is to scientifi cally connect beauty and wellness and create a new vocabulary that positions beauty as an active and positive contributor to health and well-being." In addition to growing proprietary skincare lines Stemulation and Stemulation PRO, LWI will be developing more retail, professional and private label products, as well as off ering ancillary services that include design consulting, packaging solutions and global registration. For more information, visit After more than three decades of purveying professional products to lash and brow artists, salons and spas, Glad Lash has opened GladGirl, its fi rst retail location, in Northridge, California. Previously, the company sold its line of extensions and after-care off erings exclusively through its website, but customer demand prompted the brick-and-mortar opening. The new store off ers a wide range of items from the brand's professional and DIY consumer lines, including extensions, adhesives, strip lashes and cosmetics.
