8 @dayspamagazine • Januar y 2019 THIS PAST HOLIDAY SEASON, I took a long, much-needed break from the offi ce, and I'm certainly feeling refreshed—emotionally at least. But physically? Those days of junk food and lazing around left me feeling pretty lousy. Luckily, I was able to schedule some Whole-Body Cryotherapy at my local US Cryotherapy Center for a little wellness upkeep. All it took was two and a half minutes in a freezing chamber to give me the jolt I needed to get in gear! Needless to say, I'm beyond excited for what we have in store for DAYSPA in 2019—and that's not just the cryo talking. In addition to giving you the scoop on such cutting-edge trends, we know that you want more treatment protocols, product information and business advice, and we plan on delivering just that. This month, fi nd out how spas are helping clients recover from excessive exposure to electronics in our Making Waves column (page 20), turn to page 42 for our Alternative Health column about sound healing in the spa setting, and learn about the latest body contouring technologies in "Shape Shifters" on page 54. Meanwhile, inclusivity and diversity are arguably the fastest growing facets of the beauty industry—so to help you cater to an increasingly multicultural clientele, our "Tone Depth" feature on page 48 covers how spas can best address some of the most common concerns specifi c to every skin shade. Finally, after months of planning, tweaking and reworking, I'm thrilled to introduce a new, refreshed look for DAYSPA. All of your favorite sections are still here, but we've revamped and streamlined each one to better present you with the innovative coverage, trending products and gorgeous imagery that are at the core of our prestigious publication. So on that note, I wish you a happy New Year, and I look forward to working with you in 2019. FROM THE EDITOR LAURA WALDON EXECUTIVE EDITOR lwaldon@creativeage.com I experienced a full-body cryotherapy session at US Cryotherapy in Studio City, CA.
