38 @dayspamagazine • Februar y 2019 Having worked in the spa industr y for many years, it's been amazing to witness—and par ticipate in—the constant innovation. Wellness is always on my mind when it comes to creating menu offerings, and I love introducing cutting-edge treatments and products that enhance the guest experience. Training is another one of my passions, and I strive to create a nur turing team environment that blends synergy and fun so that our employees feel valued. Finally, success is measured in countless ways, and while monetar y goals are motivating, taking care of our clients and putting smiles on their faces is what's most rewarding. Michelle Adams Somerville Director of spa and wellness Woodstock Inn & Resort Woodstock, Vermont There are so many fun and gratifying benefi ts that come with a career as an esthetician. First and foremost, I love that my job requires ongoing education. Constantly learning about new products and practices means that there's always an oppor tunity for fur ther growth. I'm also passionate about clean, healthy skin care, and the most fulfi lling thing is being able to help my clients feel their most confi dent and beautiful. Working together to develop a customized and effective regimen, and building relationships with each regular guest over time, is such a uniquely satisfying aspect of my job. Rita Arabova Esthetician nuBest Salon and Spa Manhasset, New York The reason I became an esthetician is to be of ser vice to others. Making people feel good while they're getting a treatment is a wonder ful way to spend the day, but the best par t of being an esthetician is hearing clients say their skin looked amazing for weeks after their ser vice, and that the product I recommended really made a difference. This lets me know that I've helped someone feel better all around. Another plus is that guests often say they've been looking for ward to their treatment all week, so being in the skin studio automatically puts them in a positive mood. Alexandra Wagner Owner and esthetician Alexandra Wagner Skincare Los Angeles RETAIL ROCKSTAR THE SPA Beauty Brands in Kansas City, Missouri THE PRO Dana Jones, regional vice president THE STAR Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum WHY IT ROCKS "Our customers love that it's gentle but effective—they notice an improvement in their skin tone and texture almost immediately. The fact that this retinol can be used even for sensitive skin types is a bonus, and some of our clients say that the serum actually reduces irritation while helping minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They also share that it makes their moisturizer and other products go on more easily; one person who received a sample said she was sold after noticing how her foundation no longer settled into the lines around her eyes and upper cheek area. (I have very dry skin and have noticed similar results myself!) It definitely drives traffic into our location, especially when we offer samples or demo Murad products on our Mobile Play Stations, which is a very effective way of getting the product into clients' hands." u WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB? avin Ha g. din ere Th b. y job e re The d. mood Visit for extra coverage.
