Pickup Lines A Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology study (December 13, 2018) suggests that microneedling is highly effective in treating age- and smoking-related wrinkles. Researchers divided 40 patients ages 33 to 60 into either a skin-aging group or a cigarette-smoking group. Each under went six treatments using the automated microneedling device Dermapen. Sessions were spaced two weeks apar t, with a needle depth of 1mm and six passes per area. Par ticipants were instructed to follow a strict after-care regimen. In the skin-aging group, improvement in skin texture and tightness was rated good to excellent in 90 percent of test subjects; in the cigarette-smoking group, improvement was rated good to ver y good in 75 percent of the patients. In addition, 90 percent of those in the skin-aging group and 75 percent of those in the cigarette- smoking group also repor ted that they were at least somewhat satisfi ed with the results.
