Why it's a favorite: "I've been in the business for seven years, and end-of-service comments have never been as positive as they are following this facial," gushes Shibui owner Sandra Packard. "Its instant results leave clients bright, tight and tingly fresh, with dreamy texture. Guests are never disappointed." dab a little concealer to help camouflage darkness, Geason adds. Ingredients such as caffeine and peppermint are "instant rejuvenators," says Glo-Minerals' national makeup artist, Kate McCarthy, and also provide "prolonged tightness." • Take a brow "A beautifully arched brow will give the appearance of lifted lids," says Geason. "I recommend seeing a brow specialist for the correct shape. If your client's brows are sparse or gray, fill them in with shadow or pencil." • Give a little lip service. "Lip plumping products help increase blood flow, which can in turn help tighten and firm the mouth area," explains Boldijarre Koronczay, CEO of Éminence Organic Skincare. • Opt for double-tasking beautifiers. "Look for cosmetics that offer great color enhancement as well as true skincare benefits," says Towne. "Many ingredients in traditional makeup can irritate the skin, which leaves it more vulnerable to everything from dehydration to free radical damage." Karen Bock, owner of Brushes by Karen, names peptide Matrixyl 3000 as her favorite cosmetic ingredient, explaining, "It works to mimic the appearance of broken-down collagen, causing your skin to naturally react by producing more collagen." —Angela Melero dayspamagazine.com | JUNE 2013 61
