Cosmoprof North America PREVIEW This month, Las Vegas will be invaded by beauty pros from around the world thanks to Cosmoprof North America (CPNA). The major B2B event, taking place July 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, will house many facets of the industry under one roof. Each business sector—cosmetics and personal care; packaging, contract, manufacturing and private label; wellness and spa; and professional hair, nails and tools—will have a designated pavilion for easy attendee navigation. Show fl oors will be packed with vendors seeking to demonstrate and discuss their latest and greatest products, technologies and treatments. In addition to business development and networking opportunities, Cosmoprof will have special attractions and programs. These include: • Keynote Speaker: Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and star panelist of TV show Shark Tank, will be sharing his life story and business advice. • Boutique: Partnering with subscription-based beauty box company GLOSSYBOX, this sampling program allows attendees to hand-pick seven deluxe samples from 20 exhibiting brands to place in their Boutique boxes in exchange for a donation. Proceeds from Boutique will benefi t City of Hope, a Duarte, California-based research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. • Discover Beauty: This initiative allows emerging brands from around the world some time to shine via designated prime exhibition space. Among them: Coastal Salt & Soul, Clearogen, Qiriness, Drunk Elephant and Ila Skincare. Spa supply giant Universal Companies attends CPNA specifi cally to scout the latest in developing new treatment options in the spa sector, and such brands are up for consideration. • Emerging Beauty: Manufacturers who are new to Cosmoprof are given space in an exclusive section, allowing them access to powerful business opportunities. • City of Hope Spirit of Life Award: Harlan Kirschner, CEO of the Kirschner Group, is being honored by City of Hope and the National Professional Salon Industry for his outstanding professional and philanthropic efforts.
