By Katie O'Reilly Swimsuit season is prime time to address that pesky disorder known as cellulite. Blighting 90% of post-adolescent women's thighs, buttocks and abdomens, the condition seems straightforward enough: "Cellulite is simply an excess of fatty tissue associated with water retention," says Tami Louise Rumbaugh, educator for CA BOTANA. "Pockets of this fat become trapped within subcutaneous adipose layers and cause irregular, patchy dimpling in the skin." But cellulite is also a tough nut to crack. For starters, although losing weight may reduce cellulite, being overweight is not in itself a cause. "The problem isn't very discriminatory," observes Rumbaugh.
