YOURWELLNESSSPA 72 DAYSPA | MAY 2015 SNAPSHOT full-body treatment featuring a dry brushing, wrap, rhythmic massage and cleansing facial mask. The protocols incorporate products from natural skincare brand Amala. MARCHING TO A NEW BEAT Why choose now to launch this daring new menu? Perhaps it's the realization that today's clients—even ones who are loyal to one brand—are continually seeking new experiences. "Music is at the core of Hard Rock's DNA, and the fi lter for much that we do. We sought an opportunity to use the power of well-cu- rated music to enhance guests' desire for experiences that resonate within. Not only do we aim to provide such memorable moments, but we want to provide them to an audience that specifi cally seeks out experi- ences that stand apart from a pool of generalizations," says Melotti . "The Rock Spa experience is meant to plug them in, amp them up and maybe even turn them on. Our objective is to energize and excite. We want guests to leave feeling invigorated and recharged." Curious to put the theory to the test, DAYSPA sam- pled the Synchronicity massage at the Hard Rock Hotel in Palm Springs, California. Even in our blissed-out state, we found ourselves tapping our feet to the bass vibra- tions pulsating through the table and the treble beats playing from above. The effect was simultaneously uplifting and soothing, and resulted in a cocooning, al- most womb-like sensation. Plus, despite the hotel's hard-partying clientele, we enjoyed our best night's sleep in months. Could it be a testament to the therapeutic power of this newfangled spa soundtrack? Melotti seems to think so. "By cou- pling the healing benefi ts of music therapy with the artistry of massage, we're able to provide an energetic departure from what's traditional and deliver our guests a fully immersive music experience," he concludes.
