By Corrie Pelc Why did you decide to create your own branded line? Ruth Casella, retail manager, Great Things Boutique at The Lodge at Woodloch, Hawley, Pennsylvania: We've offered private-label products at our spa since opening in 2006. We really wanted people to take home a piece of their experience with us. Our spa's philosophy is personal awakening, and our products are aimed at helping guests continue their awakenings at home. Sarah Jane Willingham, spa director, Barnsley Resort Spa, Adairsville, Georgia: The signature Barnsley Resort Lavender-Mint line was launched in 2011. We wanted to create a custom product selection that was as unique as the English-inspired cottages that house our guest rooms and suites. Our formulas are infused with botanical fragrances that draw upon the historical beginnings of the resort and are a nod to Godfrey Barnsley's original Woodlands Estate and the global fl ora and fauna varieties that he brought to North Georgia when he moved here in the 1840s. Marco Rullo, managing director, Dragontree Inc., Portland, Oregon, and Boulder, Colorado: We have offered our private-label line for over fi ve years, and created it out of a desire to provide the highest-quality concoctions to all of our guests. It made sense to our brand to deliver the same standard of results-driven skin- and body-care used in our spa treatments in our take-home offerings too. Amanda Anderson Myers, director of wellness, The Wellhouse at Blackberry Farm, Walland, Tennessee: Our private-label line launched at the end of last year. We really refl ected on who we are as a property—more specifi cally, our gardens and our woods—and we came up with formula stories that have a strong Blackberry Farm component to them.
