Zecha melded his initials with the Persian word caravanserai, meaning "resting place with central courtyard," to form the name Azerai Luang Prabang. The 53-bedroom property houses a massage retreat with four private single treatment rooms; a double body treatment room; and common room with six recliners for treatments focusing on the feet, hands, shoulders, neck and head. The two-story complex, inspired by traditional Lao and French colonial architecture, also contains an 82-foot swimming pool and offers fi tness options including yoga sessions and a fully equipped gym. dayspamagazine.com/freeinfo Finding safe, soothing spa treatments is fi nally getting easier for cancer patients and those in remission, thanks in large part to a new partnership between French skincare brand Biologique Recherche and nonprofi t organization Wellness for Cancer. As part of the collaboration, Biologique Recherche has adapted its facial and body treatments with various cancer concerns in mind, including the diagnosis, therapy being used, whether surgery was involved, and long-term conditions like the risk of lymphedema. "Since inception, Biologique Recherche has off ered truly individualized treatments based on a clinical approach to skin care, so we already had the tools needed to succeed in this partnership," says the brand's chairman, Rupert Schmid. To ensure meticulous protocols and aid therapists in personalizing each treatment, a comprehensive global training program was also rolled out. Additionally, partnerships have been established with nonprofi t groups around the world to off er treatments free of charge to patients who can't aff ord them. "Previously, spa benefi ts have not been widely available to those with cancer and to those in remission for various reasons, but with the help of Wellness for Cancer, we are bringing wellness and beauty to those who need it most," says Schmid. The treatments were released in the U.S. and France in June, with plans to expand to more than 70 countries by the end of the year. u H E A L I N G N E W S TOP: COURTESY HOTEL AZERAI/MICHELLE CHAPLOW; BOTTOM: © GETTY IMAGES Powerful Partnership Here's How Two-Way Radios Will Improve Your Spa...
