The two hit it off immediately and before she returned to the states, he gave her a necklace as a going-away gift. Although they stayed in touch, they never believed a relationship was possible because of the distance separating them. After 24 years of friendship and endless letters, phone calls and emails, the two were reunited when the man came to the U.S. to visit her. Six months later, they were married. And—the best part—the woman still has the necklace gifted to her more than 25 years ago!
