Participants must complete a series of progressively demanding courses before advancing to each tier. Receipt of a lapel pin and certificate marks the completion of each module. Courses toward the first tier can be taken in-person or online—the two advanced tiers are offered at Dermalogica training centers nationwide. The trade group, consisting of 29 hotel/resort property owners, spa directors, spa consultants, architects and engineers, toured the Big Apple from November 10-13, sticking to a jam-packed itinerary planned and facilitated by spa industry veterans Hannelore Leavy, president of HRLeavy LLC, and Monique Iacobacci of Spa Designs. Leavy and Iacobacci's goal was to connect the group with top-tier spas, gyms, wellness centers and manufacturers and, according to Ewa Goos, director of Spa Control & Development, Nordic Hotels & Resorts, they succeeded. "With dedication, great knowledge and a broad personal network the women delivered a program exceeding my expectations," noted Goos. "We benefited from guided visits at various hotel spas and fitness facilities, great lecturers and meetings with top industry leaders."
