MISSONI JOHN GALLIANO Mix it Up! THIS SEASON DELIVERS AU NATUREL BEAUTY—WITH A TWIST. 48 DAYSPA | FEBRUARY 2013 NINA RICCI OSCAR DE LA RENTA nyone who religiously stalks the runways would have noticed the balancing act at play during 2013 Spring Fashion Week last October. From dewy-fresh faces paired with bright red lips, to naturally thick brows framing colorfully lined eyes, a feminine blend of demure and daring is the overlying theme this spring. In her company's Spring 2013 Report, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute (pantone.com) notes that this season's trends "emphasize a need for balance in the frantic pace of our everyday lives, while allowing for individuality, self-expression and excitement." Pale pastels, subtle hints of glitters, and confectionary hues ranging from bright pinks and pale blues, to vibrant greens and yellows, make up this season's color palette. And, the idea of showcasing one's natural features will be a must. "You're going to see a return of the '60s, with bold brows, graphic eyeliner and muted lips," says Aveda global educator Janell Geason. "I love this season because it is about bold color applied softly. The feeling is organic and nothing is overdone. It has a natural, wearable-chic vibe to it." If you are wondering about which beauty looks to focus on at your spa, have no fear. DAYSPA is giving you the rundown of the hottest trends, with tips on how to keep your clients in vogue this season!
